2017- That's a wrap

We hope you have all enjoyed a well deserved break over the Christmas / New Year period and are easing into 2018 - a year we are sure will be fun-filled and action-packed.

Our first little bit of business is to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who worked with us last year.  We really are immensely grateful and fortunate to work with so many talented, creative and driven individuals.

The Empire Post is embarking on it's fourth year in business and it's true, time really does fly when you're having fun!  We took a little walk down memory lane - reminiscing about those of us who have been here since the very beginning. One of the originals of course is editor extraordinaire Georgia Mackay, or as many of you know her 'Gmac', who began as an intern at The Empire in 2014.  To celebrate Gmac sticking with us from start, this month she is the subject of a little exposé, of sorts. Have a read below.

About last night...

You didn't think we'd forgotten...

...about The Empire Post Christmas party did you? All those cocktails, champagne, food, live music, the photographer and of course the disposable cameras.  Yes, we have all the photos (cheeky dick pic included), of a great night had by all.
Thank you to all those who came and danced the night away.  It is always lovely to get together and 'let your hair down' and you all well and truly showed us how it's done!

...and keep an eye out on our Facebook and Instagram pages for more photos... you just never know when another will surface... and if you'll be in it!

all good things must come to an end.

Season 1 of Flight Centre's debut travel series 'The 48 hour Destination'  has come to an end!  This marks the end of Flight Centre and The Empire Post's maiden voyage into the world of long form.  The Empire wrapped the post production of the series with the last episodes being finalised in early December 2017. The final episode aired on Sunday, 7 January 2018 - don't worry if you missed it, you can catch it here!

Through out the series bubbly host, Greer Gardiner took viewers to every corner of the globe including to Queenstown, New York City, San Francisco, Phuket, Vancouver, Cape Town, Auckland, Dubai, Edinburgh, Japan, Darwin, Hong Kong and Los Angeles.

We hope you have enjoyed the series! The Empire  team relished the opportunity to be involved in this project and we look forward to the next big adventure with Flight Centre.

This now begs the question ... will there be a Season 2?!  Watch this space...

christmas @ the empire

In case you're suffering from a little post-Christmas-depression (it's a thing) and need a little 'hit' of Christmas, here's something we prepared earlier, to help with the transition into the non-festive season - 2 of our favourites from our December creations.

dreamworld christmas animation

Sink your teeth into this sweet animation projection for Dreamworld.  It was animated and illustrated in house at The Empire Post working directly with Dreamworld.

The animation allows the viewer to follow Santa as he spreads Christmas cheer and presents through the rides and attractions at Dreamworld.

This was a great project to raise the Christmas spirit around the office (not that we needed it, our Christmas tree was up in November).  We are always excited to work with Dreamworld and this was no exception.

We were also so impressed wonderful composer Dan from Jamhouse who expertly composed the music for the animation which turned out fantastically - really capturing that magical Christmas feel

stockland's christmas film

Being involved in this project really gave us that warm and fuzzy feeling, that 'aww' moment and those special Christmas feels.

Take a look at Stockland's Christmas Film we completed late last year in conjunction with Sydney advertising agency, Eight.

Eight came up with a heart warming concept which was further developed by director Jay Topping. Jay brought his own unique creative flare to the film allowing the viewer to connect with the themes of loneliness, hope and joy that can be aroused in people at Christmas each year.

about georgia

(g-mac; offline editor & motion graphics artist)

Georgia has blessed The Empire Post with her many talents since it's inception. Growing in confidence and skill exponentially since starting as an intern in 2014, she is a great asset to the team.  This month we want focus on Gmac's talents by presenting her showreel, some of her motion graphics work and a few fun facts.  Prepare to be impressed!

new year appeal

Many of you have seen, heard about or even had the pleasure of a cuddle with some of the adorable puppies Nicole and Digby have fostered over the last 12 months. They are able to do this through the wonderful people at Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc.

To show continued support for the wonderful work they do The Empire Post is running a New Year Appeal.  The Christmas / New Year period is a very busy time for SHARI, for all the wrong reasons.  Animal shelters and rescue groups across Australia see an influx of surrenders, often due to poor gift choices.

This year The Empire is extending the opportunity to you to support this wonderful cause.

SHARI are looking for donations such as premium puppy and dog food, cat food, puppy pads, kitty litter, toys, blankets, treats, bedding, shampoo and cleaning supplies to assist in caring for these animals.

The Empire is set up as a drop off centre for your donations - which we will deliver to SHARI on a regular basis.  You can drop off any donations to our offices or give us a call to collect them from you.  Thank you for your support!
